Dance Crew brings hip hop, breakdancing, and commercial dance styles to campus life, giving students a dynamic outlet for creativity, performance, and leadership. Crews train and perform using foundations of hip hop, breaking (toprock, footwork, freezes, and power moves), and commercial choreography, allowing dancers to develop both raw street-style technique and polished industry flair. Performances energize athletic events, pep rallies, community showcases, and competitive venues, featuring high-impact choreography, seamless transitions, and engaging staging.

Highlights

Instruction emphasizes technique, musicality, and style development alongside choreography rehearsal, conditioning, and performance-readiness training. Dancers build strength, versatility, and expressive stage presence while learning to collaborate, take creative risks, and represent their campus with confidence and professionalism.

Benefits & Educational Outcomes

Dance Crew also builds community connection: members learn to represent their campus with pride, mentor younger performers, and develop skills practical for commercial dance, competitive performance, and careers in various industries.

Qualification Criteria
All students are eligibe to auditions to particpate. Many campuses offer Dance Crew as an extracurricular ensemble; some crews are open to all students while others use audition or clinic-based selection depending on campus needs. Crews rehearse regularly during after-school hours and increase rehearsal frequency near performances and competitions. Interested students should contact their campus performing-arts office or dance director to learn about sign-ups, audition dates or clinics, practice schedules, uniform or costume requirements, and expectations for academic eligibility and travel. Coaches and campus staff work with families to ensure dancers receive the training, conditioning, and academic support needed to thrive both on stage and in the classroom.
