Highlights
Honors College students follow an accelerated learning plan that can culminate in meaningful college attainment before high school graduation. Students who complete the program curriculum may earn an Associate of Arts degree from Lone Star College-University Park while earning their high school diploma, and they can earn endorsements in multidisciplinary advanced studies and arts and humanities. The program also recognizes students’ college readiness through honors distinctions and performance acknowledgments for dual-credit completion and any industry certifications earned along the way. Honors College instruction is college-quality in scope and expectation, taught in close collaboration with college partners to ensure alignment, transferability of credit, and a seamless pathway to further study.
Benefits & Educational Outcomes
Students in the Honors College graduate with substantial college progress, stronger academic habits, and the credentials that make them competitive for selective colleges and scholarship opportunities. Completing the pathway develops advanced research and writing skills, critical thinking, and discipline-focused knowledge that prepare students to enter four-year institutions with a head start. Earning an associate degree or a significant block of transferable college credit reduces time-to-degree and college costs, while the program’s rigorous expectations and supports cultivate the independence and readiness students need to succeed in college.
