Why Families Choose Mahaffey
At Mahaffey, we love every student and live every value—and we’re proud to say we’re Glad to be PLAID. Our core values—Positive Purpose, Learners Leading, Aspiring Academics, Innovative Ideas, and Dedicated Discipline—shape daily experiences in classrooms and hallways. When you join the Scottie family, you step into a community that believes in strong home-to-school connections and whole-child growth through community circles and social-emotional lessons.

Personalized Learning That Fits Every Learner
Mahaffey is a model Personalized Learning campus for Klein ISD. Teachers design personalized pathways, build in peer collaboration, and provide extension lessons once content is mastered. We focus on knowing students by name, strength, and need, tailoring opportunities so every learner meets the moment—and moves forward with confidence. This approach helps close achievement gaps for our diverse student body and special programs, giving each child a clear path to progress.

Character and Care You Can Feel
We focus on the whole student so every child can “level up” in rigorous learning and strong character. Guided by the TEKS and Klein ISD’s Profile of a Learner, Mahaffey’s counselor supports academic, personal, and career development for students and families—because thriving means more than test scores. Families describe a welcoming community that promotes inclusion and celebrates growth; staff and students echo the pride of being Scotties.

Triple AAA Experience: Academics • Arts • Athletics
As a proud Klein ISD Triple AAA campus, Mahaffey pairs strong instruction with daily movement and the arts. Every child experiences 100% participation in physical education and 100% participation in music and art, building healthy habits, creativity, teamwork, and confidence that carry into every subject. Performances, showcases, and campus traditions give students frequent chances to shine.

Clubs and Leadership for Every Interest
Scotties discover passions and practice leadership through a robust slate of clubs and organizations: Destination Imagination, Coding Club, Name That Book Club, Ambassadors, Strings, Percussion, Choir, Running Club, Art Club, Leadership Academy, and Photojournalism. Whether your child loves to build, perform, compete, or serve, there’s a place to belong and grow.

Families, We Need You!

Get involved through the Parent/Teacher Organization, Parent Readers, WatchDOGS, Scotties on the MOVE, Parent University, Scotties Helping Scotties, and Library Helpers—with easy ways to plug in on campus or from home.
